Is your site Mobile Friendly?

This site is and yours should be too.

From Google:

Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.

If your site isn’t mobile friendly, it’s probably time to start thinking about getting it done.

There are a number of ways to get your site mobile friendly.

  • You can convert your current site to a Responsive Design. There may be some items that don’t translate well, but it may be the easiest way to meet the new guidelines.
  • If it’s been a while since you designed your site, it might be a good time to redesign your site and make it responsive all at the same time.
  • You could also create a mobile only version of your site that users will be directed to when they are using a phone.

Your goal should be to make sure your site is modern and works well with all search engines and browsers. Google, Bing and Yahoo will continue to make changes to their algorithms and there is no way to anticipate these changes. But, if you work with a good web designer you should be able to navigate these changes as they arise.

If you need help figuring this all out, let us know.
