Headway 4 is on the way!

As a visual designer it has always been my goal to find a web design tool that allows me to visually create web sites without ever touching the code, the css, the javascript, etc. So far, it hasn’t happened. I can hear all the web design purists screaming already. Code first, compliant html, css, write your own code, blah, blah, blah. I get it. That is still the best way to build a site as far as getting clean code, but it’s just not the best way for many, many talented visual artists.

So, what have I found that works for me? By far Headway Themes is the best tool I’ve found for building sites using WordPress. And the good news is that the long awaited Headway 4 is almost here. I’ve spent some time with it the last few days and I have to say there are some great new features. As with any major update to software there are the expected bugs and quirks, but the team at Headway is working hard to iron them out.

No date for release has been provided yet, but we are currently working with Release Candidate 2 and the team says we’re getting very close. As soon as it is out and ready to roll, I will do a review of the product with some screen shots. For now, I’ll keep testing it and trying to break it order to understand it and use it to it’s fullest.

Happy designing to you all!

I finally cleaned… Continue Reading

Zapp….You’ve Been Socialized!

Well, maybe not exactly. However, I am testing a new plugin called SNAP (Social Networks Auto Poster) for a new project that I’ll be working on. I wanted to see how easy it was to setup and how easily it posted to my accounts. This post is the maiden voyage. So, right to the good stuff.… Continue Reading

Content First – Really?

You bet and here’s why. The first question just about every new web design client asks me is – “How long will it take to get my site live?” I always answer – “That depends. Where are you with your content?” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started a project full-steam ahead just to… Continue Reading

WordPress Responsive Menu

Since is my place to try out new Plugins, I thought I would give this one a try: Responsive Menu by Peter Featherstone. So far I have to say it’s a great little plugin. I’m a huge fan of Headway Themes, the absolute best drag and drop site builder for WordPress. I’ll talk a… Continue Reading
